Universal Love Songs

McCann New York partnered with MGM Resorts to release UNIVERSAL LOVE, a collection of reimagined wedding songs for the LGBTQ community. The idea is that the power of love between any one can bring a divided world together. The album features old love songs made new for the LGBTQ community from Bob Dylan, Kesha, Benjamin Gibbard, St. Vincent, Valerie June and Kele Okereke. Each of the six updated love songs give same-sex couples a new soundtrack for their own love stories and feature pronouns changed to reflect the world of LGBTQ relationships.

The successful execution of the project required a strong collaborative effort. As the design director working on this project, my role was to oversee that every design element flowed together from print to social to web to animation. To achieve this, I had to draw from Karl and Craig's illustrated album cover for Universal Love and blow out the elements to fit in the different mediums formerly mentioned. The result was a beautifully cohesive visual system for reimagined love songs.
